Ep 40: NFTs, Travel and Startup Advice with Justin Myers – Explorest

Be inspired. Take a listen to some excellent advice from someone who left corporate, as a linear thinker to become a successful blue ocean creative entrepreneur.

Justin’s advice:

  • Building is intense, subdue intensity, by breaking things into small steps
  • Focus on one thing at a time
  • Share your aspiration with the world and put it out there
  • Linear thinkers can be creative entrepreneurs
  • Go as fast or slow as your comfortable
  • Explore new ideas and technology for use in your business
  • Do the right things at the right time
  • Believe in your own resilience
  • Consider an accelerator to help you build a clear strategy
  • Intelligent effort to iterate, revise and listen.

In this startup story, Justin shares how the Explorest idea came to be “helping people discover the world’s greatest places recommended by world-class photographers.”  Of course, we cover Justin’s background, but he also talks about, how he really built a community of over 140 “world-class photographers” through having good authentic conversations.

Justin busts the myth that linear thinkers cannot be entrepreneurial. He talks about how he transitioned to be a creative “blue ocean” entrepreneur that’s achieved freedom of time and place; to build a fantastic community and company, with a competitive moat.

He talks about using an accelerator to develop a clear strategy and navigate as a travel app, during Covid.

Justin announces Explorest will be offering NFT in 2022.  And we talk about the strategy of partnering to create an NFTs experience and marketplace.
